Elior North America is looking for a Benefits Director to join our Corporate Team in our Charlotte, NC office. This role is part of our Human Resources team that support the mission of our 1800 accounts across the US. Job/Role Overview The Benefits Director is the subject matter expert in and responsible for developing and managing competitive, cost effective programs that are culturally aligned to allow Elior North America to attract, engage and retain top talent. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and is member of the HR leadership team. As needed, this position provides special guidance and assistance to all brands and segments on various employee benefit programs. The Benefits Director manages the relationship with program Brokers and Advisors and directs resources to achieve results. This position develops, recommends and implements, approved, new or modified plans and employee benefits policies and supervises administration of existing plans. This position will manage a $35M benefit spend and will develop cost control procedures to ensure plan objectives and financial obligations are met. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and manage group health benefit programs for the Elior North America enterprise as well as all retirement and deferred compensation programs for the Elior North America enterprise. Design, develop and manage benefit communications and wellness programs. Evaluate plan performance and work with Finance & Accounting to plan for and manage expenses in the self- and fully-insured plans. Working with the Due Diligence and Broker Teams, participates in and provides guidance on acquisition target plans and programs. Develop specifications for new plans or modify existing plans to: Maintain company's competitive position in labor market, and Obtain standardized benefits plans across brands and segments, where possible. Manage the relationship with all third-party carriers and service providers including a benefit administration service company. Work with Information Services, Payroll and the Benefit Administration service company to ensure eligibility, enrollment, carrier application and billing processes meet company demands. Engage and work with outside consultants to identify new plan, program and communication opportunities are vetted and implemented where and when appropriate. Prepare and execute benefits documentation, such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements and insurance policies. Instruct insurance carriers, trustees and other administrative agencies outside the company to effect changes in benefits program. Ensure prompt and accurate compliance. Assure company compliance with provisions of all federal and state regulation as it pertains to all retirement and health and welfare plans. Supervise preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies. Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and report necessary or suggested changes to management. Coordinate company benefits with government-sponsored programs. Responsible for NQDC plan administration to include plan documentation, contributions, distributions and accounting of plan assets and liabilities. Provides guidance to the HR Service Center team in appropriate handling of benefits inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution. Develops and documents policies and procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as updates based on changing laws and regulations. Requirements A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or HR-related discipline. Minimum 7-10 years of progressive HR/Benefits experience with multi-state employer required; union experience preferred. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) is preferred. Has successfully developed and executed plan changes in partnership with vendors and outside consultants. Understanding of actuarial models and application of models to self- and fully-insured plans. Extensive knowledge of ERISA, PPACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Caf Section 125. Experience with HRIS systems, report writing, electronic file feeds, etc. Microsoft Office proficiency; specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with effective interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects within prescribed deadlines. Strong leader with the ability to interact and influence others. Analytical thinker with the ability to conduct research, analyze data and solve complex problems. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.
