Responsible for overall strategic planning and management of the employee and labor relations program for the organization. As the subject matter expert, provides recommendations and /or solutions to HR colleagues and management at all levels of the organization. This position requires hands on experience in union and non-union environments, in leading contract negotiations, conflict resolution, positive employee relations and grievance handling. The HR Manager Employee and Labor relations serves as a key contributor to development and maintenance of comprehensive HR policies and strategies.
Monitors and ensures adherence to all labor contract provisions and personnel policies; assists with labor contract negotiations and provides information on provisions of current contracts and significance of proposed changes.
Participates in all facet of employee relations, including policy interpretation, proactive employee relations initiatives, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, effective communication and job performance evaluation.
Represents Puratos in meetings with shop stewards and managers to investigate and resolve issues, and grievances.
Collaborates with HR Director and Legal Counsel to address litigation and EEOC claims.
Objectively and thoroughly conducts formal and informal investigations relating to employee misconduct and recommends disciplinary actions; prepares detailed and factual reports in response to employee relations, compliance issues, and investigations in a timely manner.
